Custom Buildings – By Kim Rak

Though Jamaica Cottage Shop is primarily a tiny house & homestead company (since 1995) – building thousands of kits yearly that ship *free across the continental US & Eastern Canada, selling original designs for the DIYers as plans ($50), steadily growing the accessories needed for the DIY crowd, and building fully assembled rugged post & beam buildings in their newer 70,000 sq ft facilities – I’ve noticed that the owner & senior designer Domenic Mangano also has a soft spot for fanciful, functional shelters – he guides his skilled staff with customers ideas & treasured finds, turning these elements into one of a kind buildings – that always have surprising grace for having to meet so many needs.
Jamaica Cottage Shop did not disappoint when these customers had a salvaged vintage cupola they wanted incorporated, plus, needed some barn space and firewood storage, in a traditional style. The building was finished out with sliding barn doors and an upgrade to cedar shake siding on the upper half of the building.

Jamaica Cottage Shop keeps their personal artistic aesthetic in the final product.
